"Cops With Sticks" is the theme of these two pictures published by members of the Seneca Nation after they were beaten by members of the New York State Police.
Why does New York Govenor George Pataki hate the Indians? Is it that Native Americans are finally starting to be able to pull ourselves out of the poverty and displacement after lossing the Americas to the Europeans? Did you expect the Native Ameerican people to stay poor and downtrodden forever?
No, the New York doesn't care if we are Native American or not. The problem is that by selling Native American cigarettes, we are starting to take away their big cash cow, the "Cigarette Sin Tax". New York has one of the highest cigarette taxes in the country. If you can't suck all that money out of the smokers, what are you going to do Mr. Govenor? I guess you are going to have to start to do your job and come up with some real ideas as to how to effectively run your state. The all paying cigarette sin tax isn't going to be the magic cure for bad government forever. The people won't let it!!

I think that it is crazy that you can't smoke in a bar in California (where there shouldn't be any kids), but you can smoke in a place like Disneyland.
For the people in those states - take names and don't forget. Come elect time, let's vote those bastards out of office.
Yeah, I like that thought. That's the only way to make things fair again. Vote them out of office. If taxes are need to run this great country. Okay. I accept that. Teachers, Roads, Police, Fire Departments. All these things cost money. Instead of just taxing the smokers and saying it is for our health, let's tax everyone. Let's spread the burden around. Why should the smokers pay the tax burden of non-smokers?
People only hate taxe increases because they believe the politicians waste money when they get too much of it. We need real government and real leaders to run this country. We are lacking inspiration in the high posts of power. The cigarette sin tax is proof of the lack of wisdom in government.
well, what I would like to say is this: I am tired of anti-smokers and what they stand for. Which is to take away my freedom. Smoking is legal but we are treated worse then common crooks. I am sick to death of the way all the states, and gov. officials of those states are using the smokers to balance their budgets. We have more importand issues to waste our time and tax money on. Come on Smokers, fight back. Tell the sorry anti-smokers what you think of them. What the puff on is illigal, and most of them think they are doing something far nicer then smoking. GET REAL. They are pressing on your freedom, taking away your rights, and it is time to stand up and be counted. thanks
I have been smoking for 30 years and the only person I hurt is me, it's my choice. Why does the Government make such a big deal about smokers and not alcoholics?Drunk drivers cause more harm to others than smokers do.
I have the solution....make Pot legal and the states can tax that to the hilt but we also would get premium pot and crime associated to illegal use of pot would be cut in half.
i smoke because i like to smoke. the government doesnt give a damm about any health risks real or imagined risks, afterall this is the same goverment that lied about the deadly effects on people who were subjected to agent orjange while fighting in vietnam. i strongly support our indian brothers in their cause. your fight my brothers is our fight. may god bless you one and all
Vote at the ballot box and vote with your $$$$.
I will flat walk out of an eatery that doesn't accomodate smokers and I tell them why I am leaving.
Tell your representatives.
We have money, to burn! politics is about getting that money, so tell them if they want our money back-off!
